Clontarf Online recently happened upon documents pertaining to a legal case involving a dispute between two of the most notable and distinguished residents of Clontarf in the 19th century. John Vernon and William Gleadowe Newcomen. We have presented these documents to the Dublin City Archives, but they have given permission for us to display a text copy of the original documents as well as a summary which explains the case in modern and simple English.
